Developing an Accountability Framework for Philanthropy
Developing an Accountability Framework for Philanthropy

In order to increase the credibility and legitimacy of the sector, EAPN probed into the development of a framework for accountability. The three-step process started off with establishing a committee comprising representative organizations from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania represented by I&M Foundation, CivSource Africa and Legal Services Facility (LSF) respectively. The mandate of the committee was to map accountability practices, contribute to the development of a white paper based on the data collected from the mapping exercise, cocreate consensus-building forums where the draft document (standards) will be presented, and craft a framework for enforcing compliance.
