This report was developed in collaboration with the International Education Funders Group (IEFG), the African Union, the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI), the Independent Philanthropy Association of South Africa, TrustAfrica, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), and the OECD’s Network of Foundations working on Development (netFWD). It analyzes current trends shaping education funding across Africa, providing funders with a deep understanding of the dynamic educational landscape. It delves into philanthropy’s significant challenges in ensuring equitable access to quality education, critically examining the systemic barriers that impede progress.
